Project: Bottle Opener

Class Size: 6 students
Class Level: Beginner, 14 yrs and up. 

Participants ages 14-17 yrs must be accompanied by a legal guardian who is also registered for the class.

 

Prerequisites: No experience need. 

 

Skills Taught: The focus of the class will be for each student to work on their own bottle opener, which they will take with them at the end of the class.  You will be introduced to the parts of the anvil and how they are used; hammer control for effective movement of metal; the basics of punching a hole, drawing out, tapering and bending; operation of a propane forge, and shop safety.

Refund Policy: Eligible refunds will be issued as website credit according to the schedule outlined below. Monetary refunds may also be requested minus a 5% service fee.

 

Refund schedule: 100% refund with at least 30 days notice, 50% refund with at least 14 days notice. No refund with less than 14 days notice. If class does not fill we reserve the right to cancel and issue a full refund as a website credit.

SHOP WEAR & PERSONAL SAFETY EQUIPMENT

Safety equipment to bring:
Safety glasses (mandatory), also recommended over prescription glasses
Leather palmed gloves

Ear protection (optional)
Leather apron (optional)

 

Attire

Long sleeves and long pants
Clothing should be cotton or wool. No synthetics like windbreakers or nylon pants.
Closed toe shoes.
No loose fitting clothing.
Long hair must be tied back.

Bring your own water bottle, and snacks as needed.
